Beaches

Spiddal has two local beaches. Trá na mBan, is located on the roadside east of the village, 1 minute walk from the cottage. Another beach is located beside a sheltered pier, accessible by a small road or path just west of the village. There is also a small beach available when the tide is out beside the Sean Chéibh (in front of the bottle bank). If this is not enough, Connemara has a multitude of beautiful beaches easily accessible by car, just take any sideroad towards the sea and you are likely to find a beach for your own private use!

Shopping

Visit the local craft village (An Ceardlann) to see traditional artists at work and sample their wares if the mood takes you! There are 10 craft workers based here, whose skills include handweaving, contemporary ceramic pottery, stained glass and visual art. About 5 minute walk from Tigh Lals.

Needless to say, all your shopping needs can be met in Galway city. However, if you wish to stay local, shopping is available within walking distance in Standún's, a unique award winning family run store, now it its 3rd generation.
